K-12 Online Endorsement Certification (Post-Bac)
- The online endorsement program is designed to top coat existing teacher certification offering expertise in online learning. The candidates enrolled in this program work directly with their employer to obtain the required field competencies to satisfy the endorsement program. LEAs having candidates seeking the online endorsement are in direct communication with the field practicum instructor and supervisor.
- Only four courses to complete this certification (1 year):
- GCED 625 Instructional technology
- GCIT 614 Emerging Technologies and Information Management
- GCIT 624 Usability and Assessment of Online Technologies
- GCIT Advanced Instructional Design for Online Learning
Upon completion of the K-12 Online Endorsement program, candidates will be:
- experienced with the design thinking skills and technologies that can be applied to any learning setting, current or future
- proficient in synchronous, asynchronous, and blended learning and will be able to train or lead others to be successful in the 21st century classroom
- able to design, develop, implement, and evaluate their own instruction and training as a lead designer and instructional technologist
- maintain lifelong learning to continue embracing technology and what it can do to help learners of all ages succeed
All candidates must already have a teaching certificate (any state or level) to add the endorsement. All courses can be transferred into a master's degree at Saint Vincent College. Conversely, students may use any of the above already taken for a degree program to meet the endorsement. See advisor for more information.

Samples of Online Endorsement program products:
In GCIT 684, graduate students consult with a faculty member to transition a face-to-face course to online. The following samples are of course tours in which graduate consultants highlight their course design, developed content, assignments, and functionality for new students taking the course in the online format. All of the interactivity, structure, cloud-based assignments, and content post-production is completed by the student consultant. The faculty member serves as the SME (subject matter expert).
