Block I: 4:30 to 5:15 p.m.
1. Advice from our SVC Alumni: Learn about finding and interviewing for a job as well as what to expect during the first year of teaching.
Presenters Include: Mikayla Nolfi (Teaching in a Special Education Setting at Sunrise School); Josh Suszek (Teaching in Ligonier Valley Middle School); Jessica Petrovich (Former Junior High School English Teacher)
2. Session for Current Pre-Student Teachers Only: Get advice from several current student teachers on what to expect and how to survive student teaching.
Presenters: Lucy Budjos, Gina Johnston, Taylor Millslagle, Kayla Schehr
3. Preparing for the School Counselor Interview: Get information on what you need to know to be prepared for the School Counselor Job Interview.
Presenter: Dr. Lisa Maloney, Supervisor of Pupil Services in the Hempfield Area School District
Block II: 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.
1. Preparing for the Teaching Interview: Get advice from a current administrator in the Greater Latrobe School District about what to expect and how to best prepare for the job interview.
Presenter: Mrs. Laurie Golobish, Director of Pupil Services, Greater Latrobe School District
2. Teaching in the Non-Public School: Learn what it is like to teach in an alternative school, an independent school, and a Catholic school.
Presenters: Mr. David Kirkland and Mrs. Karen Kozak, The Valley School; Ms. Brooke Pierce, Principal at Ketterer Charter School; Mr. Ben Althof and Mr. Will Merchant, Greensburg Central Catholic School Representative
