Officers Share Convocation Learning at Meeting
At our meeting on November 4, 2019, Psi Iota officers each shared information about one session they attended at KDP Convocation.
Judith Anne shared information about effective parent engagement including the following web tools to help keep parents engaged.
Paige shared information about adopted children in your classroom. She gave advice on the types of assignments we should avoid and the language we need to use when relating to adoptive children and families.
Nicolette talked about effective parent teacher conferences and shared a rubric that a master teacher uses during her parent teacher conferences.
Sarah provided information about playful elementary math stations that use games: Lobster/Turtle and Raging Rectangles were just two of the fun learning ideas she talked about.
Nick's session, Grading and Grace, presented new ways to think about grading and feedback, taking control from the teacher and giving it to the students.
If you'd like more information about these sessions or anything the officers learned while at Convocation, please contact them.
Under the direction of officer, Judith Ann Purdy, the KDP Carnival Booth was a success. Thank you Judith Anne and committee members. Also, KDP member, Joel Trentin was elected Homecoming King during halftime at the Bearcat football game. If you see Joel, please congratulate him.
