Pre-Student Teaching Online Application

Only complete this online application when you are ready to pre-student teach.  Remember you must have passed all required classes, have passing PAPA scores or ETS Core and all current clearances.  ONLY SUBMIT THIS ONCE!!!  You cannot save and return, so only start the application when you have all the required information at hand.

Once you submit this application you will be taken to a page with an Eligibility Certificate.  Print and sign the certificate, then take the certificate to the Education Office where you will receive your complete paper application packet with directions and forms for getting recommendations, transcripts, and writing an autobiographical statement.

      
    Student Status (key):
    Undergraduate - all students seeking a B.S. or B.A. degree with certification or minor in education
    Graduate - all students seeking a M.S. degree with certification
    Post-baccalaureate - all returning students with a degree seeking first-time teacher certification
    Second certification - all returning students with an education degree seeking an additional certification, but not a degree

     Undergraduate students must have 6 credits in Math Post-baccalaureate or graduate students should indicate any math course(s) Algebra or higher, if taken.

    All students currently can use multiple pathways to meeting the first level of testing for Education.  Students currently may show meeting the competency through PAPA/ETS CORE, SAT/ACT EXEMPTION or ACT 55.  Graduate students, Post-baccalaureate, 2nd certification, or intern certificates are exempt from the first level of testing..     Choice of School District: Because we have little control on the placements available at each district, we cannot currently offer guarantees for preferences by soliciting choices of districts. Please use the following comment section to describe anything special we should know about your current situation.  Please list where you're hoping to live during student teaching (on campus, near your home address, etc.).  While we cannot just place you in any random district (an affiliation agreement must be in place). If there is a district close to where you live we are affiliated with and you would like to live at home, we will try to get you closer to your home if it is at all possible.  Please also list any other information you believe we should know about any other special circumstances or challenges.

    Conditions:  I understand that by submitting this application I have full intent to pursue pre-student teaching in the semester following the date of my application.  In addition,  all of the information I have provided is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.  I also agree not to contact any school or district regarding a placement.  Placement requests will be completed only by the Saint Vincent College Field Director upon full approval of my application for Advanced Standing and this online pre-student teaching candidacy application.
